Being a Classic Ford enthusiast I have spent many hours looking into this sticker sometimes found on the blue cambelt cover. Talking to clubs and others it appears this letter relates to the relevant engine assembly line, and was applied by Ford to aid traceability in the factory’s. If you have one this is a rare find as most have come off and obviously weren’t intended to stay on for a long time.

So far I have seen E, H, J, K, R, ( as seen in photos ) the first 4 pics are of my 2.0 GT Mk3 Cortina. Please send me a pic of your sticker, so I can build up a reference library and keep track of all the letters that were used.

If there are any buyers out there who fully understand the coding used by Ford please message me. The sticker is high quality and has a protective finish so the black print cannot be cleaned from the surface if in contact with cleaners / fluids etc.
